In terms of price and ease, this is right up there with ramen and microwavable macaroni and cheese. It's a poor college student staple. Trust me, I am one.

Ingredients:
-1 Large Flour Tortilla
-Shredded Cheese
-Butter or Butter Substitute

Optional:
-Cooked, Diced Chicken
-Cooked, Diced Steak
-Diced Tomato
-Diced Pepper
-Diced Onion
-Pretty much anything you can think of

Get out a pan equal to or larger than the size of your tortilla. Fortunately, the only pan I have here at the moment is the exact same size as the cheapest tortillas I could find. Put the burner on high and take a forkful of butter (or butter substitute!) and use it to coat the pan.

Toss the quesadilla on and wait until you see some pockets of air to form. Flip it over. The underside should be browned. This is actually the first time I've ever used these burners, so this is a bit more browned than I wanted it to be, but it's not terrible.

Take a handful or so of cheese and put it in the middle of the tortilla. You want to leave about an inch wide border with no cheese around the tortilla so it doesn't ooze out and burn on the pan.

Let's now pretend for a moment that I didn't just spend all of my money on furnishing an unfurnished studio apartment. At this point, I would take one or more of the optional ingredients and add it to the quesadilla.

...Unfortunately, I did spend all of my money on a new apartment, so cheese itself will have to do. Turn the heat down to medium-low and fold the quesadilla in half.

Press it down (preferably with a kitchen utensil like a spatula and not with your hands), let it sit for about 10 seconds, press it again, flip it, press it, let it sit for another 10-20 seconds, and press it again. If the cheese isn't melted yet, do some more presses and flips.

And that's it. Today I'll be enjoying my quesadilla with a new lime flavored beer I recently discovered on top of one of the five million pieces of furniture I assembled this week. Oh, I'd also recommend a side of sour cream, but I don't have any sour cream here either.
